Creator 5
Up to 4 toolheads, whole-toolhead exchange
Our photograph of this machine goes here. We only show photos of units we have in front of us.
Overview
An open-frame, four-toolhead toolchanger with a 256 mm cube build volume. Every head reaches the whole bed.
Each of the four toolheads has its own hotend and filament path. While one prints, the other three wait in docks at the back of the machine, so a color change is a head swap rather than a purge and reload.
This is the standard, open-frame model. FlashForge also sells an enclosed Creator 5 Pro with chamber heating; specifications on this page don't apply to it.
What we haven't checked yet
- How long a tool change actually takes, start to finish. FlashForge doesn't publish a figure.
- How much material each change wastes on priming and wiping.
- Whether the automatic offset calibration holds across a long multi-color job.
- How the open frame copes with materials FlashForge lists as needing an enclosure.
