Prusa INDX conversion kits and complete printers are shipping

Prusa began shipping the Bondtech INDX toolchanger for the CORE One+ in August and opened orders for complete INDX printers. It also disclosed that the nozzles are surface-hardened, not fully hardened.

On 20 August 2026 Prusa said it had “started shipping the first batch of INDX conversion kits”. On the same day it opened orders for a complete CORE One+ (Gen 2) with the Bondtech INDX toolchanger, assembled or as a kit, with 4 or 8 tools. Orders for CORE One L+ INDX kits and assembled printers followed on 27 August.

Numbers Prusa gives

  • A tool change takes “~12 seconds per change”, measured from the last extrusion to the first extrusion on the part.
  • Priming takes 13 mg per change.

These are Prusa’s figures, not ours.

The nozzle disclosure

Prusa disclosed that the shipped nozzles are “surface-hardened rather than fully hardened, as originally specified by Bondtech”. Its suggested wear life per nozzle is about 10 kg of PETG-CF, 5 kg of PC-CF, or 0.5 kg of highly abrasive filament. If you print a lot of fiber-filled material, budget for replacement nozzles.

Why it matters here

INDX puts a toolchanger into a much smaller, cheaper printer than the XL. That puts it in direct competition with the Creator 5 and the U1. We don’t have one; its reference page lists Prusa’s specifications.
