Up to 7 toolheads, whole-toolhead exchange
We don't have this machine, so there's no photo. We don't use manufacturer renders.
Overview
We don't have this printer. Everything on this page comes from the manufacturer, with a source for each fact. See the machines we're testing.
A hybrid machine with one fixed IDEX toolhead on the left and a right carriage that swaps among six toolheads, for up to seven toolheads in total.
Sovol's DualX system combines one fixed toolhead with a second, independently moving carriage that picks up any of six toolheads, using what Sovol calls a patented motor-driven locking mechanism. Sovol claims about 5 s per swap. All seven toolheads heat independently so they can preheat before use, and the two carriages support Copy and Mirror modes. Calibration uses cameras for XY offset and real-time Z-offset compensation for the second toolhead.
Build volume depends on the mode: 300×300×350 mm with one toolhead or with the six swappable heads alone, but 240×300×350 mm when the left fixed toolhead is used together with the swappable ones. The M1D Essential is an open frame with no chamber heating. The M1D Advanced adds an enclosure kit and active chamber heating to 60 °C. Sovol has said the firmware and software will be open-sourced.
