J1s

Up to 2 toolheads, independent dual extruder (idex)

We don't have this machine, so there's no photo. We don't use manufacturer renders.

Overview

We don't have this printer. Everything on this page comes from the manufacturer, with a source for each fact. See the machines we're testing.

An IDEX printer with two independent extruders on separate X carriages, offering dual-material, copy, mirror and backup modes.

The J1s has two independent extruders that move separately on the X axis. One can park while the other prints, which allows two-material prints without purging through a shared nozzle. The two can also print at the same time in Copy and Mirror modes. In Backup mode the second extruder takes over if the first one fails.

Build volume shrinks in the parallel modes: 300×200×200 mm in Default and Backup modes, 160×200×200 mm in Copy mode and 150×200×200 mm in Mirror mode. It is limited to two materials per print and is an older platform than Snapmaker's U1 toolchanger.
