Bambu Lab
H2D
Up to 2 nozzles, two nozzles on one head
We don't have this machine, so there's no photo. We don't use manufacturer renders.
Overview
We don't have this printer. Everything on this page comes from the manufacturer, with a source for each fact. See the machines we're testing.
An enclosed printer with two fixed nozzles on one toolhead, each fed by its own AMS units through single-nozzle filament switching.
The H2D has two hotends on a single toolhead, and Bambu calls the mechanism a 'dual-nozzle switching system': the inactive nozzle is lifted while the other prints. Nozzle offsets are calibrated automatically with eddy-current sensing. Each nozzle is mapped one-to-one to its own AMS units, so colors beyond two are still produced by cutting, unloading and purging filament within a nozzle.
The H2D is included because it is the base platform for the H2C and is often compared with toolchangers, but it is not a toolchanger. Waste and time savings come only from the two-nozzle split, for example a dedicated support material. Printing with both nozzles reduces width to 300 mm. The full 350 mm combined width applies only when the same filament is loaded in both nozzles.
